Understanding Upfront Payments for Commissions
The Upfront Payment method is used when the creator requires the client to pay 100% of the commission cost before work begins. This provides security by ensuring that payment is secured before you invest time and effort into the project. It also reduces the risk of clients disappearing without paying for completed work.
How Upfront Payments Work
When a client requests a commission with upfront payment, they must pay the full amount before you start working. This allows you to begin the project with confidence, knowing that the funds are secured.
Depending on your status as a creator on our platform, the payment will either:
- Be held in escrow until the commission is marked as complete.
- Be released immediately upon completion if you have achieved a Certified or Trusted Creator badge.
✅ Certified and Trusted Creators receive faster payouts, reflecting the platform’s confidence in their reliability and professionalism.
✅ New or unverified creators may experience a short delay before funds are available, which helps protect both the creator and the client.

Refunds and Cancellations
If a commission is canceled, the refund process will depend on the circumstances:
- If you cancel – The client will receive a full refund or partial refund depending on your choice.
- If the client cancels – Refund terms will follow the cancellation policy you’ve set, such as offering partial refunds for work already completed.
In case of disputes, our support team is available to help resolve any issues fairly.
Why Upfront Payments Matter
💡 Upfront payments create a secure and fair experience for both creators and clients:
✅ Protects your time and effort.
✅ Reduces risk of non-payment.
✅ Encourages professional, timely work.
Starting a project with funds secured allows you to focus on delivering your best work — without worrying about whether you'll get paid.
