If you realize you won’t be able to meet the Guaranteed Delivery date, you have the option to request an extension right from the commission page so the client can be notified.
How to request more time
- Open the commission
Go to your dashboard and click on the commission you’re worried about. - Find the Guaranteed Delivery Date
Scroll until you see the current guaranteed delivery date. - Click “Request Extension”
A pop-up will open where you can choose a new delivery date and add a short message. - Explain the delay
Be honest, so clients can understand where you're coming from. A sentence or two is enough, for example:- “I apologize as I’ve had some unexpected delays, I need more time to make sure the commission is up to standard”
- Send the request
Once you submit, the client gets a notification and can review your new proposed date.
What happens after
- If the client approves, the new delivery date is automatically updated in the commission details.
- If the client rejects, the original date still applies, and you should either work toward that deadline or continue the conversation to find another solution that works for both of you.
Ask before you reach the deadline
Letting the client know as soon as you realize you’re behind almost always goes better than saying nothing and missing the date. It shows you respect their time, care about the quality of the work, and are taking responsibility instead of disappearing. A lot of clients are kind and understanding, as long as you communicate, they will be willing to work with you.
